The new engine family is a significant step for both partners in fulfilling the commitment assumed by European car makers within their European Association (ACEA), promises to reduce the fleet consumption, and as a result, CO 2
emissions to 140 g/km in the year 2008. Engines developed in the project may, for the first time to elegantly solve the conflict of interests between demanding engine technologies and cost pressure in the small and compact car segment. The project confirms it with all the means economically feasible to build fuel efficient traction devices with innovative technologies also in lower car segments. Turbocharged fuel injection power unit combines the torque curve a diesel with the advantages of a modern reciprocating-piston engine. Maximum torque of 240 Nm or 177 lb-ft comes at just 1400 rpm, remaining almost unchanged to 4000 RPM /min this ensures significant advances and muscles from Low engine speed, powerful acceleration, a perfect response and maximum driving pleasure. Together with its maximum output of 105 kW/143 HP at 5500 rpm this motor guarantees sporting results regardless of where you goTorque and Output Diagram. Four-cylinder petrol engine with fullyvariable valve drive (85 kW/115 bhp).
