2021 Subaru Forester Review, Price, and Manual - The fifth generation Subaru Forester comes in a variety of engine options, be it petrol, diesel, or hybrid e-boxer. But not with the turbo engine, which hasn't been absent since the debut of the first generation in 1997. After two years, Subaru finally inserted a turbo engine into Forester's first facelift. The latest generation turbo engine comes in a more compact capacity, 1.8 liter.
The engine used in the 2021 Subaru Forester is coded CB18, and is the same as that used by the Levorg MPV which was introduced late last year. The engine produces 174 HP power and 300 Nm of torque. This engine will be used in the Forester Sport variant, which also gets a CVT gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. Not only a new engine, the 2021 Forester also gets changes on the side of the legs which include damper and coil spring settings.
Apart from the Sport variant, the 2021 Subaru Forester will also come with Touring, X-Break and Advance trims. All three variants are powered by an e-Boxer hybrid engine that combines a 2.0L petrol engine and an electric motor that produces 143 HP of power with the same gearbox options and drive system as the sport variant.
Subaru doesn't provide many visual changes to the Forester 2021, only the front-rear bumper design is refreshed with an integrated skidplate, black fog lamp housing, and a new spoiler.
Meanwhile, the interior changes include a new doortrim, an instrument panel clad in black and suede leather, leather seats with silver stitching accents, metal pedals, and orange accents on the center console.
To complement the improvements obtained, 2021 Subaru Forester also embeds a new monitoring driver system using a camera that is integrated with the instrument cluster for the Sport and Advance variants, and comes as an option for the Touring and X-Break trims.
The least-expensive 2021 Subaru Forester is the 2021 Subaru Forester 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT). Including destination charge, it arrives with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of about $24,795. Other versions include: Limited 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT) which starts at $31,395.
